Basert på 20th Century Fox-filmen, The Greatest Showman, med historie av Jenny Bicks, er dette den første tittelen fra 20th Century Studios (tidligere 20th Century Fox) som er tilpasset for scenen av Disney Theatrical Group og The Seelig Group, en produsent av den originale filmen.
